ANZAC Poppies

We are learning to remember and celebrate our ANZAC heroes.

We are making a poppy wreath for the dawn service on ANZAC day.

It takes lots of perseverance and determination to make a poppy. We used our maths learning to measure two 10 cm squares.

We used this video to help us make our poppies.
We had to watch very carefully because cutting the poppy shape is quite tricky. But, we know that the best learning comes from making mistakes so we just kept trying until we got it right!

Here is the video if you want to make your own poppy.

Tyler being a superhero teaching his measuring skills
Blake carefully measuring accurately
Charlie and Dom measuring

Naomi checking her measurements are accurate
Busy working and thinking
Sam watching the video step by step

Holly carefully following the video step by step to make her poppy
Whetu opening up his poppy
Kamora-Lee so excited about her first poppy

Coopa and Marshall thinking and problem-solving. Lots of
great learning talking.
We have been learning an ANZAC song
